UN Women board visits Bulawayo

UN Women Executive Board is in the City of Bulawayo today (Thursday) for its annual field visit. They are set to meet with the Mayor of the City, Councillor David Coltart, Town Clerk Mr Christopher Dube and Council Heads of Departments.

The board, which has been in Zimbabwe since 4 May 2025 will also have the opportunity to interact directly with stakeholders and get a first-hand information of their operations and how they can take their work further.
Their visit will be concluded on 10 May 2025.

Key focus areas during their visit include national ownership of programming, strategic partnerships, and best practices in implementation that can serve as models regionally and globally.

They said particular emphasis will be placed on exploring UN-Women’s engagement within the United Nations Country Team (UNCT) through joint programming initiatives and the Resident Coordinator system, reflecting on progress made under the United Nations development system reforms.

The delegation’s visit underscores UN-Women’s commitment to fostering collaboration and driving impactful initiatives to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment in Zimbabwe and beyond.
