HIGHLANDERS will be without the services of their veteran goalkeeper Ariel Sibanda for Sunday’s Castle Lager Premier Soccer League showdown against FC Platinum.

Coach Kelvin Kaindu confirmed that Sibanda picked up a knock during training in the past days, ruling him out of the much-anticipated fixture.

“It’s a minor injury, but he will not be available for Sunday. He has not been training,” said Kaindu.
On a positive note, defender Andrew Mbeba is on the mend and was part of the squad that secured a 2-0 victory over Yadah Stars at the Heart Stadium last weekend.

His return adds stability to the Highlanders’ backline ahead of the crucial tie.

Kaindu also revealed that seven players had sustained minor injuries in the previous match, but expressed optimism they would recover in time. “We had about seven players suffering knocks, but we are hopeful they will be ready by Sunday,” he said.
