THE National Thanksgiving and Dedication Service does not only unify the nation, but is also a way of fighting the injustices in the form of illegal sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe, founder and chairperson of the Faith for Nation Campaign Prophet Andrew Wutawunashe has said.
The National Thanksgiving and Dedication Service is being organised by the Faith for the Nation Campaign — an inter-denominational grouping of local churches.
The service is a platform where believers meet the country’s leadership to intercede for the nation.
Prophet Wutawunashe said the services have become a unifying front for the nation because people from all corners of the country come together to pray for Zimbabwe.
He said the service also created a platform for the church and the Government to engage on issues affecting the country.
“The services are a moment of unifying the nation and even the people outside the continent of Africa. We also get people from other countries in the continent attending the service,” said Prophet Wutawunashe.
“It also makes it possible for the President to achieve his goal of leaving no one and no place behind through fully participating in the services. We also encourage people to take note of the fact that no one should be left behind including the marginalised groups.”
Prophet Wutawunashe said by including all the Pan-African countries, it is clear that the country is unified as everyone is involved.
“Looking at the sanctions that are targeted at Zimbabwe, we are saying these services are meant to create an opportunity for us to pray and fight against such forms of injustice. Every time we have these gatherings, one of the strongest points that we are always talking about is sanctions and how they are affecting people,” he said.
“More so, these services are a chance for people to share all the accurate perceptions about our country, which is portrayed in a negative way on social media.” –@flora_sibanda
