AN unlicensed driver has landed in the dock after ramming into a police outrider who was part of a State motorcade in the Harare CBD.

Arnold Muzanenhamo (27) appeared before magistrate Dennis Mangosi yesterday.

He was remanded in custody for bail application today.

The court heard that on June 3, Muzanenhamo was driving a Honda Fit, along Seventh Street, and failed to obey signals by the police outrider to give way to the motorcade.

Muzanenhamo allegedly went into the intersection, ignoring the siren, and rammed into the motorbike.

After the accident, Muzanenhamo was asked to produce his licence but failed.

Further investigations revealed that he was not a holder of a driver’s licence.

Zororo Nkomo appeared for the State.
