MCs Tanatsa Chilundu and Tatenda G Mundondwa are set to take over the microphones when Unplugged Concert takes place tomorrow, promising revellers a lively day of music, entertainment and socialising at First Capital Bank Sports Club.
The two MCs, who will host the much-anticipated event, said they were excited about meeting revellers and creating an atmosphere filled with fun, music and memorable moments.
“We are going to be your hosts for The Unplugged. We are so excited to see you guys. We’re going to have so much fun,” they said.
Their appearance comes as excitement builds around the latest edition of Unplugged, an entertainment experience that has become known for bringing music lovers together in a relaxed outdoor setting.
The event combines live music, socialising and leisure, allowing revellers to spend the day with friends while enjoying performances from a selection of Zimbabwean musicians and performers. For the 29th edition, organisers have put together a star-studded line-up featuring Sylent Nqo, Travellers Band, Tamy Moyo, Tanto Wavie, Takura, Shona Prince, Tahle Wedzinza, Reverb 7, Pretty Gangsta, Kim Makumbe and DJ RSK.
The diverse line-up is expected to appeal to different musical tastes, with live performances providing the main attraction throughout the day.
However, before the musicians take to the stage, Tanatsa and Tatenda will be tasked with setting the tone and keeping the crowd entertained.
The pair are expected to guide proceedings between performances, interact with revellers and maintain the energy as the event moves from the afternoon into the evening.
Tanatsa and Tatenda urged fans to make plans to attend, encouraging them to bring their friends and enjoy the Unplugged experience together.
“You bring your crew. Of course. But obviously there’s always that one friend who’ll say, I go where I’m invited. Make sure you invite that friend,” they said.
The MCs also spoke about the relaxed atmosphere associated with Unplugged, highlighting the social side of the gathering.
“So you know the vibes, you know there’s blankets and wine. And you know what love is. You know how love can be,” they said.
With the event running from midday until 10pm, revellers will have several hours to enjoy the music, performances and social atmosphere at First Capital Bank Sports Club.
The duo said they were looking forward to making the day memorable for those attending, promising plenty of energy and humour from the stage.
“This Unplugged is going to be crazy. It’s going to be packed. And guess what? We’re going to be there,” they said.
Their role as MCs will be particularly important, given the number of performers on the bill, as they will help maintain the flow of the programme while keeping audiences engaged between acts.
