AN UNRULY tenant has been dragged to court for verbally and emotionally abusing his landlady and her grandchild.

Ronald Madonho is being accused of assaulting and insulting his landlady, Moleen Chinhewa, over domestic issues.

The matter came to light after Chinhewa approached the Harare Civil Court seeking a protection order against her abusive tenant, Madonho.

“Ronny is very violent and disrespectful.

“He even assaults my three-year-old grandchild,” Chinhewa said.

She also claimed Madonho’s behaviour was so nasty that she could no longer accommodate her.

“I have applied for an eviction order but he does not want to cooperate,” she said.

Chinhewa also claimed Madonho threatened to kill her.

She now wants him evicted from her home.

Madonho, who was in default, could not give his side of the story.

Magistrate Sharon Mashavira, who presided over the matter, granted the protection order against the abusive tenant in absentia.

She ordered Madonho not to verbally, emotionally and threaten to kill his landlady.
