POPULAR Gringo series actor, Gweshe Gweshe, is unwell.
The 62-year-old is battling prostate enlargement at Chitungwiza Central Hospital.
Speaking exclusively to H-Metro, from his hospital bed yesterday, the actor – real name William Matenga – said he was desperate for financial assistance.
He was also writhing in pain after being operated on early this week.
“I was admitted here on Sunday,” he said.

“On Tuesday, I was operated on and I am still in pain. I was involved in a road traffic accident sometime in February this year and that put me off work, as well as off the big screen.
“I need more blood but things are not alright for me financially.”
His wife, Esther Matenga, told H-Metro his situation was dire as money was needed to settle ballooning medical bills.
“Financial challenges left him admitted in a general ward, instead of a private one, which was recommended,” said Esther.
The veteran actor, who has been in the game for over two decades, acted together with the late Lazarus “Gringo” Boora.
He also acted alongside the late Stembeni Makawa, popularly known as Mai Gweshe Gweshe, back in the ‘90s.
He appealed for financial help since he was struggling to make ends meet. The actor said the family had exhausted its coffers.
