ONE of Zimbabwe’s sporting ambassador who will take part in the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) general assembly golf day known as the Vic Falls Invitational Golf Day at the Elephant Hills Hotel and Golf Resort Excil Jefferies jetted into the country yesterday. The local motor racing icon said he is happy to be back home and is grateful for being considered for the golf day.
“I feel good to be back and I look forward to the golf event as spending some time in Vic Falls will be good.
“It has been a while since I played golf but promoting Vic falls and tourism is a welcome move,” Jefferies said.
More than 20 teams of four golfers in each team were drawn different Zimbabwean business community.
The event is aimed at showcasing and draw the attention of the world that Victoria Falls is a must visit tourist destination.
It also seek to provide delegates with highlights on the leisure facilities that are available.
Vice President, Joyce Mujuru, is the patron of the tournament and will preside over the prize presentation in the evening while the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Walter Mzembi will also be among the guests.
