THE Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) on Thursday revealed that the second Fifa Agent Examination for 2024 will be held on Novermber 20.
This examination presents a vital opportunity for aspiring football agents in Zimbabwe to gain official accreditation under the new Fifa Football Agent Regulations (FFAR).
With regards to application period and study materials, the country’s football mother body revealed that: “The application period for the upcoming examination opens on 19 August 2024 and will close on 4 October 2024. Prospective candidates are encouraged to submit their applications within this window to be considered for the examination. In preparation for the exam, study materials will be made available on the Fifa Agent Platform starting from the 19th of August.”
Zifa will charge an examination fee to cover administrative costs.
“It is important to highlight that this fee is separate from the Fifa license fee, which is payable by candidates who successfully pass the examination,” said Zifa in a statement.
The upcoming November examination marks the third Fifa Agent Examination facilitated by Zifa under the new regulations. The first examination under FFAR was conducted on September 20 last year, during which 10 candidates applied, four sat for the exam, and one successfully passed.
Earlier this year, on May22 , the second exam was held, receiving 68 applications, with 10 candidates sitting for the examination and one passing.
Starting in 2025, the Fifa Agent Examination will be held once a year. The application period for the 2025 examination will run from January 13 to February 28, with the examination scheduled for May 21.
Gibson Mahachi, Denford Mutashu, George Deda, Garikayi Gilbert Sengwe, Lindela Tshuma, Gibson Mahachi and Adonis Ndaimana Sithole are the Zimbabwe Fifa registered agents in an industry where almost all professional players are represented by individuals claiming to be managers or representatives in transfer deals.
While concerns of fake “player agents” mushrooming in the game, Zifa has remained committed to ensuring the highest standards in football agent accreditation and they have vowed to continue to facilitate these examinations in line with FIFA’s global standards.-@FungaiMuderere
