South Africa based emerging artist Nkosentsha Keubokile Ngondo, better known as Davi Nyota, will on September 28 release a single which depicts the ghetto lifestyle.

Titled “Ubumnandi,” this dance/electronic single is a collaborative masterpiece that features the renowned DJ Sfisoman, famous for the hit track “Ungadidi.” It serves as a tantalising glimpse into Davi Nyota’s forthcoming EP, scheduled for an early release next year.

Davi Nyota who hails from Tshongwe rural in Gwanda said the single seeks to showcase how people based from the ghetto or have ghetto upbringings appreciate the little things they have in life.

“The single is about the township life and its happy people who appreciate the little happy moments and good music as they spend time together and enjoy their drinks. I’m so excited about the song because I’m sure it’s what people are waiting for and it’s exactly what is missing in our streets.

“I am also working on my first EP titled This is Davi which will have tracks like Uthando olunamandla, Izithembiso and Duduzile and will feature artistes like Obert Dube and Mai Titi. For Mai Titi we talked to her with my manager before the unseen incident that happened to her so we are hoping it will succeed when she’s out,” said Davi Nyota. -@mthabisi_mthire
