Urban Reloaded

Brie and Swaggar T
Hey guys, how are you doing?
Phew . . . weekend is here again and what’s the catch.
What is in your douchebag by the way?
We have noticed that many teens have downloaded the Sound Cloud application and sent their notes.

My bad to those who haven’t opened a Sound Cloud application. Allow us to reply some of you who asked our SC account.
Well remember Rome wasn’t built in a day because so soon will update you and big things popping too.

On the fashion scene the ‘BOY’ label has taken the town by storm and we believe Lil Wayne is smiling all the way.
Daiges , it is a no no no going to school with a wig. We believe you should leave it to the shrags because you are beautiful with that natural hair. Most girls inboxed us that, is it cool but please stay off the wig.

Here is Nay and Yeah of the week.

Neon lights up your way
Neon colours are new girl’s best friends especially on the tights that were made famous by popular hip-hop female rapper Nicki Minaj.
One thing that these tights are fashion killaz is that they add sass to an outfit. Gone are the days when bright colours were a no no.
Colours represent life and should not be limited to clothes. Don’t be left out on the reflection of the funky side in the urban culture.

Monster watch
How many times have you noticed boys with big watches? One would think it’s the adult version of Ben10 but alas, welcome to the monster watch world. Well these watches are 3-in-1 as you can find a calendar, navigator and obviously time. Still in the colour season they also come in different shades and can be worn either in casual or formal wear. Zim true got style because not only JB has it but go to Avondale flea-market if you want one.  Off the fashion-hit, buzzing doupe . . .

Teens that are out and about
What happens if you put together a group of vibrant youths, mad beats and a dance floor? You guessed it right; those are the ingredients of the illest dance party.

That was the case at last weekend’s National Arts Merit awards in Bulawayo and everything unfolded in full view of the Urban Buzz. Youthful clique Antivirus set the stage on fire with awesome dance moves.

For a moment there, it looked like a scene from t5he popular step up dance movies.
The Antivirus presentation was enough to show that the Zim Hip Hop culture is very much alive although its artistes seem to be keeping a low profile.

But then folks, that’s a story for another day. We hope to bring the guys to this side of the country soon for an insight into what makes them tick.

Keep your eyes glued to this column because we might just surprise you.

Couch Potato
The Urban Buzz cannot resist giving an insight into an interesting new release at Ster Kinekor from last week. Vampire Academy is a kind of creepy movie about Rose Hathaway.

Being a Dhampir (half human, half vampire) also makes her guardian of the Moroi. They are peaceful, mortal vampires living discretely within our world. Her job is to protect the Moroi from bloodthirsty, immortal Vampires, the Strigoi. Curl your toes as her scary adventures unfold. If you missed it last week, don’t miss it again this weekend!

Decoded
Epic
It means being unusually large, powerful or wonderful. On a grander scale than the modified word would otherwise imply.
The word is also among most overused word by urban youths as it is used to refer to almost everything: event, action

Sic
It means ‘spelt in context’. It is used to indicate that an unusual spelling, phrase, or any other preceding quoted material is intended to be read exactly as shown (rather than being an error) and should not be corrected

Example
Not Here Today – I am il l(sic)

Stacks – A stack is one thousand dollars. Stacks is a synonym for thousands referring in terms of dollars.
