IN the event that you are in Harare, please don’t dump litter on the streets of the central business district (CBD).
It’s something that will cost you US$38.
The announcement was made by deputy mayor, Rose Muronda, at the launch of council’s anti-litter campaign.
“We are encouraging everyone to drop litter in appropriate bins to keep the city clean.
“All shop owners must put three bins outside their premises as the law requires.
“All vendors must have designated points near establishments where they drop litter so that we maintain a healthy environment,” said Muronda.
To combat problems with refuse collection and litter, the council has also announced plans to install 1 500 waste bins across the city and major streets in the CBD.
