Chief Court Reporter
THE University of Zimbabwe has started the process of looking for the Dean of Law to replace the incumbent dean Mr Emmanuel Magade, now deputy chairperson at the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission. The UZ yesterday flighted an advert inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position to become vacant soon.

A dean plays a crucial role in the university’s senior management structure, providing overall leadership and management functions to the Faculty which include administration and management of the Faculty’s finances. According to the advert, the dean would also be responsible for all faculty planning and control in all specific areas of human resources, budgeting, academic programmes, departmental equipment and other faculty matters.

The closing date for submission of applications is November 24. Mr Magade was appointed as ZEC commissioner in June 2015 and has served as the deputy chairperson since March last year. His term will expire in 2021 and he will be eligible for reappointment for one further term.
