THIRTY seven homeless people appeared in court yesterday facing accusations of violating the Vagrant Act.

The 37, who are aged between 17 and 35 years, appeared before Harare magistrate Nyaradzo Manokore, who remanded them in custody to today for plea recording.

They all pleaded guilty.

The arrest came after an operation by the police to rid Harare of vagrants, who have become a menace in the city centre.

According to the State, all 37 were rounded up and arrested at various points in the Central Business District on May 29.

Oripar Sagandira appeared for the State.
