Van Gaal to spend more

LONDON. — Louis van Gaal says he is happy with his summer signings but insists he needs to do more business in January. The Manchester United boss landed six new stars over the summer’s transfer window, as he looked to stamp his mark on the squad. The likes of Anthony Martial, Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay were brought in at vast expense but Van Gaal says he is ready to spend more in January.

The transfer window reopens on January 1 and the Dutchman has revealed he is eager to land more “creative, speedy” players. When asked of his transfer plans, Van Gaal said: “I have already said, in the transfer period, I could not buy every player I want and that’s also because of the market.

“I have said that we need creative, speedy players in attack. You have seen which players I have bought; I like that profile, but we need more.” Van Gaal was also asked if he thought the world’s stars still see United as a top club to join. — The Daily Star.
