Vegetable vendor wins car in Spar Promotion

A FRUIT and vegetable vendor in Mutare is now a proud owner of a brand new Toyota Vitz after winning one of the Mutare Spar Fantastic Festive Promotion grand prizes last Saturday.

Fadzai Jukwa, a 47-year-old woman from Chikanga Phase Two, said she was so confident of driving one of the cars home after she bought several participating products and submitted more than 200 receipts in a period of three months.

The promotion ran from November 7 to January 30.

She used to board kombis to and from Chikanga via Sakubva to buy fruit and vegetable products such as mangos, bananas, apples, tomatoes and rape and sell them in the city and owning a car was just a dream.

“After winning this car, I am challenged to obtain a driver’s licence. I was so happy when they called my name. I expected to win because hardly a day did I spend without buying some of the participating products in Spar. I am happy. My family is so happy, too, and may God bless Spar Mutare personnel. I will drive the vehicle myself and will continue selling vegetables,” said the mother of three, shedding tears of joy.

Other two winners, Tapiwa Mukoko of Bordervale and Jennifer Mudhara, drove away in a Toyota Vitz and Honda Fit respectively.

Spar Mutare general manager, Mr Tawanda Mukapa, hailed customers’ response and support.

“Our valued customers supported us overwhelmingly and we are very grate ful. The promotion went on well up to the last day. We would like to congratulate the winners and wish them all the best. Our customers should continue buying at Spar Mutare because we have bigger and better promotions lined up for this year, these include Easter Promotion as well as Hoza Summer Promotion,” he said.
