A 23-YEAR-OLD woman has been brought to court facing attempted murder charges of two people she scalded with cooking oil.

Vanessa Nyakabawo, a vendor in Mbare, was not asked to plead when she appeared before Harare magistrate Marewanazvo Gofa.

She will be back in court on December 29, for routine remand.

Nyakabawo’s lawyer, Moffatt Makuvatsine, submitted that he would apply for bail, after assessing the condition of the victims.

It is alleged that Nyakabawo poured boiling cooking oil on her co-tenant Shyleen Masai, and a baby which was on her back, following a misunderstanding in Epworth.

Nyakabawo relocated to Machipisa after committing the offence.

Masai and the badly-burnt baby are admitted at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital where they are said to be in a critical condition.

Lancelot Mutsokoti appeared for the State.
