THE South African kwaito and house duo of Jotham “Vetkuk” Mbuyisa and Zynne “Mahoota” Sibika are expected to bring down newly opened joint Eden nightclub when they take to the turntables in Bulawayo on Saturday. Popularly known as Vetkuk and Mahoota, the Via Orlando hit-makers command a huge following in Bulawayo.Show organiser, Gordon “DJ Slamma” Imbayago said this would be one of the biggest gigs at Eden since it first opened its doors two weeks ago.

“The first cut is always the deepest and they (Mahoota and Vetkuk) understand what this show means to Eden nightclub,” he said.

Slamma said this would be a show to remember and would set the tone for great things to come from the club heading into the Christmas period.

“Local DJs Marcus Andro, Scooby, Kead and Kananjo will curtain raise for the South African duo. Fans should expect an action packed show with non-stop music,” he said.

Slamma said the duo would arrive on Saturday afternoon and will have enough time to rest before their midnight show.

“The guys are coming in on Saturday and they will have enough time to prepare for the show,” he said.

Mahoota is one of South Africa’s most successful and popular urban music names. He has a successful music career and is a founder member of Trompies.

Trompies are among some of the original kwaito groups which consistently topped the charts in South Africa. He is also a partner in the top South African independent music label, Kalawa Jazmee Records, the home of Oskido, Don Laka, Boom Shaka, Mafikizolo, Bongo Maffin, Spikiri, Alaska and Dr Malinga.

Vetkuk and Mahoota have released five successful albums with Lesedi and Tshiamo, being their best selling albums.

In addition to producing good albums, the two are a top deejay outfit.
