THE traditional ceremony meeting for the development of the International Cricket Stadium in Jufuta Estate in Victoria Falls has been held.
The Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Barbara Rwodzi, was the guest of honour.
She was represented by her Deputy Tongai Mnangagwa at the traditional ceremony.

The meeting was held in Victoria Falls on Sunday.
In this project, Zimbabwe Cricket is in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry through the Mosi Oa Tunya Development Company to develop the stadium.
In a statement, the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority said the strategic role and direction utilized by the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry is through the integral whole of Government approach.
“The Guest of honour, Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Honorable Barbara Rwodzi, represented by the Deputy Minister Honorable Tongai Mnangagwa, shared that, alongside the cricket stadium project, the Ministry will lead in the development of an Integrated Tourism Resort at Lot 1 Jafuta estate which will improve Tourism infrastructure in the adventure capital, Victoria Falls with an objective to attain the $5 billion tourism economy by 2030,”reads the statement.

The Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, the statement says, is in line with President Mnangagwa’s Vision of leaving no one and no place behind as Community involvement is key to sustainable tourism growth and development.
“As such Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry’s primary goal in alignment with His Excellency President Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030, is to ensure inclusive development leaving no one and no place behind. This means that with every new project, the Ministry actively involves local communities through employment and business opportunities. The strategy includes intentionally engaging with local governance structures from Chiefs to Mayors, Councils and villagers,” reads the statement.
