Victoria Falls manager vanishes with US$35,000

Sunday News Reporter

POLICE have launched a manhunt for a 23-year-old branch manager, Mthulisi Cecil Ronald Moyo, who allegedly disappeared with US$35,390 entrusted to him for deposit.

Poloce national spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, said Mthulisi Cecil Ronald Moyo was employed as a branch manager at a wholesaler in Victoria Falls. On October 22, 2024, he received the cash from a cash-in-transit crew, which he was supposed to deposit into the company’s bank account.

However, Moyo allegedly took the money and fled to an unknown destination.

Police are appealing to anyone with information regarding Moyo’s whereabouts to come forward.

The public can contact the National Complaints Desk on (0242) 703631, WhatsApp on 0712 800197, or report at any nearest police station.

The incident has raised concerns about the level of trust and responsibility placed on individuals in positions of authority, particularly when handling large sums of money. As the police continue their search for Moyo, the case serves as a reminder of the importance of accountability and transparency in business operations.
