The league chairperson Derreck Mawire said he is impressed with the level of competition exhibited by the teams.
He believes there is still room for improvement and the league can acquire more sponsorship.
“Our main aim is to see our football improve. We want our league to be competitive in all aspects. The growth is gradual and we are embracing it.
“The teams have used the window period to beef up. They have acquired new players as they seek to bolster their teams to finish strong in the second half of the season.
“Come end of season, no team will be relegated as we have 12 teams only within our league. In future we may think of expanding maybe to 18 teams and if interest rises from other denominations we will break down into regions.”
“The bigger idea is for us to ministry through football. Before we have also engaged in various activities as the Christian league. We have also visited prisoners at Harare central prisons and so forth.
“We are also grateful to our sponsors who have made our dreams come to a reality as they have brought the much needed energy for the league.”
