Villagers appeal for help

They said the torrential rains left a trail of destruction especially on key infrastructure like water points and roads.
The worst affected areas are those in Tshikwalakwala, Chaswingo, Chabili, Chituripasi, Dombolidenje, Whunga, Dendele and Zezani Business Centre.

Beitbridge Rural District Council chairperson, Councillor Gladys Tlou said the water situation in the area was critical.
She said in some cases the villagers had to rely on unsafe water sources.

They are fears that some water points could have been contaminated with water borne diseases during the flooding.
“We have a serious challenge where the destruction of most water points such as boreholes in the community has resulted in water shortages,” she said.
