US-based Zimbabwean professional golfer Scott Vincent has been contributing to domestic tourism by enjoying down time at the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge with his wife Kelsey as well as daughter Zoe after an eventful year.

In 2022 Scott reached a career high 78 on the Official World Golf Ranking in September, made his British Open debut, won his third tournament on the Japan Golf Tour and enjoyed his first Asian Tour victory. The Zimbabwean number one is currently ranked 91st in the world having broken into the top 100 in June this year for the first time since turning professional in 2015.

Vincent has never finished the year ranked inside the top 100 as he ended 2021 on position 109.

“It’s been quite a long year so I needed a break and for me nothing is better than being close to the bush and away, just enjoying the scenery, animals, some fresh air and just to kick back for a little bit, there’s nothing like Zimbabwe,” Vincent said.

In the LIV Golf League, Vincent played for four different teams, Smash GC in London, Cleeks GC in Portland, Iron Heads GC in Bedminster and Torque GC for the final five tournaments. The Zimbabwean finished 42nd on the earnings list with just under US$1.5 million cumulative for individual and team earnings.

Popularly known as Mhondoro, the 30-year old won the right to play in the 2023 LIV Golf League season by winning the International Series Order of Merit, a ground-breaking series of events launched this year on the Asian Tour with prize purses of US$1.5 million and above, played across seven countries. The winner of International Series Order of Merit received an exemption into the highly anticipated LIV Golf League.  — Follow on Twitter Mdawini_29
