IN-FORM Zimbabwe professional golfer Scott Vincent finished tied fifth at the ISPS Handa Gatsu-n to tobase tournament, on Sunday.
Vincent, who had tied for second place in the third round, was part of players in the Japanese Tour tournament, held at Miho Golf Club in Ibaraki, Japan.
The Zimbabwean has now recorded nine straight cuts, on the tourm and finished only three shots behind winner, Tomoyo Ikemura.
The ISPS Handa Gatsu-n to tobase tournament saw the Zimbabwean carding 66, 68, 69 and 67.
Vincent was tied with Hideto Tanihara.
He is now ranked 109th in the world.
Janichiro Kozuma, Yuki Inamori and Yuta Ueeteke were in second place, on 15-under total.
Ikemura registered his first Tour victory, after a magnificent come-from-behind recovery.
The Japanese professional finally grabbed his victory after nine years, since he turned professional, at the age of 18.
He had many chances, in the past, for a breakthrough victory but kept coming short.
However, it all ended on Sunday, when he found the magical touch needed to win four rounds of a professional golf tournament.
Vincent has been one of the standout players on the Japanese Tour where he has established himself as one of the top golfers.
He has continued his love affair with Japan, which started when he was the star of Team Zimbabwe, at the Olympics.
Vincent finished the golf tournament in 16th place, which was the best performance by a Zimbabwean athlete, at the Olympics.
