ZIMBABWEAN professional golfer Scott Vincent was impressive in the LIV Golf Mexico, where he finished on position four at the weekend.
The tournament played at the Club de Golf Chapultepec was won by Jon Rahm who helped his Legion XIII team to a win as well.
Vincent managed to finish on 12-under overall to finish on position four to make another top 10 finish in the lucrative golf tour.
Representing HyFlyers team, Vincent’s team comprising Phil Mickelson, Michael La Sasso, Branden Steel and Cameron Tringale, finished fifth in the tournament.
Rahm, the Legion XIII captain, closed with a dominant seven-under 64, finishing at 21 under to secure a commanding six-shot victory.
For the week, Rahm delivered four rounds in the 60s and steadily pulled away from the field.
Paired in the final group with teammate Tyrrell Hatton — the first time the Ryder Cup duo had shared a final group on LIV Golf — Rahm quickly took control and never looked back.
Meanwhile, Tawana Mangoma was crowned the Mashonaland East Amateur golf champion at Marondera Golf Club at the weekend.
Mangoma, who finished tied on even par with Munyardzi Sithole, managed to win the play-off.
A cool round of 72, 68 and 76 saw Mangoma forcing a play-off with Sithole who had rounds 71, 72 and 73.
Munesu Chimhini was third at one over par, as T. Ellis was fourth at two over.
Tadisa Katoma, Shepard Chiwaya and M. Bolas were tied on position five at four over par.
