ZIMBABWEAN professional golfer Kieran Vincent returned to the course in the Fortinet Cup Championship, PGA Tour Canada’s season-ending event at the Deer Ridge Golf Club at Kitchener, Ontario, Canada early this morning.

Vincent, who has played nine tournaments in the tour after turning professional this year, will be expected to finish the season on a high note.

It is at Deer Ridge Golf Club where the 24-year-old will write the final chapter to his 2022 PGA Tour Canada season.

With a best finish of tie for eighth place in the Osprey Valley Open presented by Votorantim Cimentos – CBM Aggregates, Vincent goes into this week’s tournament on position 30 of the Fortinet Cup having played nine tournaments and making the cut eight times.

The former Liberty State University student’s season career highlights includes 159 birdies which are the sixth-most best this season.

His tournament-best birdie output came in Minnesota and Prince Edward Island, where he had 21 each in both events.

The season-long points title is up for grabs as the circuit wraps up its 2022 campaign with the Fortinet Cup Championship this week at the visually stunning and challenging course.

Fortinet Cup Championship comes with it 600 Fortinet Cup points and US$40 500 to the tournament winner, the overall points champion will earn Player of the Year honours, 2023 Korn Ferry Tour membership, a US$25 000 bonus — courtesy of Fortinet — and a playing spot in the PGA TOUR’s 2023 RBC Canadian Open.

Players ranking second through fifth after Sunday night will earn 2023 Korn Ferry Tour status, and those finishing sixth through 10th are able to skip all stages of the Korn Ferry Tour’s Qualifying Tournament and move directly to the finals, set for Savannah, Georgia, in early November.

The top-60 Fortinet Cup players will all retain their 2023 PGA TOUR Canada playing privileges.
