A HARARE woman took her daughter-in-law to court, accusing her of attacking her son and visitors.
Victoria Jani sought a protection order against her daughter-in-law, Caroline Dube, and magistrate Tamara Chibindi to granted her application.
Victoria told magistrate Chibindi that ever since Caroline moved in, they have not known peace.
“She is into drugs and always fights with my son and people who visit. Now she is having problems with the neighbours and everyone now refers to us as a violent family.
“She threatens to kill my son or herself, now l could end up with bodies in my house,” she said.
Caroline was not in court to defend herself.
Although magistrate Chibindi granted the protection order, she questioned Victoria’s sincerity for only bringing her daughter-in-law to court.
“You blame your daughter-in-law, but she did not come to your house on her own. You were supposed to report both of them since they will be fighting.
“Now it seems as if you only want to separate them,” said magistrate Chibindi.
