A SELF-PROCLAIMED “virgin hunter” has been convicted on his own plea of guilty to having sex with a minor.

Appearing before Victoria Fall magistrate Ms Lindiwe Maphosa, the 23-year-old man from Pakhama Village under Chief Mvutu pleaded guilty to deflowering a minor aged 15 following his quest to bed a virgin.

He was remanded in custody to today for sentence.

The man, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the minor, stunned a packed court room when he said he had to “find pleasure” in his girlfriend while she was still a virgin.

“My girlfriend once joked that she is 17-years-old and I took it seriously. I then decided to have sex with her while she was still a virgin,” he said.

Prosecutor, Mr Listen Nare said on September 30 this year, the complainant was sent by her mother to check something at their old homestead.

While at the old homestead, she saw the accused whom she had been in a relationship with for three months and he called her for a meeting at his house.

She agreed and they ended up spending the night together.

Mr Nare said while the girl was at the house in Pakhama village, she heard her mother calling out her name, but she did not respond.

“The accused then asked the complainant to lie on the blankets and she complied. He then had sexual intercourse with her two times in succession with her consent. The two then spent the night together,” he said.

Her mother later found her asleep alone in the accused’s bedroom and she looked visibly tired.
