Vision 2030 providing a life for local firms

THE Government’s Vision 2030 is providing a huge lift for local companies through creating an enabling business environment and creating more opportunities for locals.

This was said by local contract mining firm T&A Drilling and Blasting, which was last week awarded the outstanding organisation in mine supplies and services category at the Zimbabwe CEO Network Awards held in the capital on Friday.

The company, which specialises in surface and underground drilling and blasting services in the mining and construction sectors, has been involved in major projects for big platinum,  diamond, nickel and gold mines.

T&A Drilling and Blasting managing director Mr Kundai Chidamba said the Government’s Vision 2030 has created opportunities for indigenous players to contribute to the growth of the economy.

“We are grateful to the visionary leadership of His Excellency President Dr ED Mnangagwa for rolling out Vision 2030 of turning the country into an upper middle-income economy in six years’ time,” he said.

“This vision has been supported by the economic blueprint, the NDS1, which is now going to be succeeded by the NDS2. So, as His Excellency always allude, Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo; it is our duty as young entrepreneurs to assist the Government in building our nation, brick by brick and stone by stone.

“So, our involvement in major national programmes, like the road rehabilitation project and dam construction, is testament of our willingness to support the Government cause and build our nation.”

Mr Chidamba, who is a mine technician by profession, said the company will continue to innovate, adapt and strive.
