THE Mutare Christian community will be in for a treat this month-end as Vocal Union Boys will host a gospel show dubbed Arise and Shine at Revival Centre World Mission Church in Hobhouse. The show is scheduled for September 26. After exactly three months from their album launch at the Courtauld Theatre in June, Vocal Union Boys have managed to organise a gospel concert.

The group is riding high with songs from their second album, Gore Renyasha, which carries songs like Rudo, Gore Renyasha, Mbiri kunaYahweh, Ngaavongwe Jesu, Vana vaMwari and Ndasunungurwa.

Artistes to perform include Freddy Gonda, Baba Samhiri, Blessing Kamangira and Revival Centre World Missions praise and worship team. Other singers are yet to confirm. “We are very happy as youngsters to organise such an event. The concert is not limited to our church members, but it is open to all denominations that is why we have artistes from various denominations.

“It is all about Jesus and we are praising and worshipping to spread his gospel through music,” said Cyprian Chiromo who is the band leader. Cyprian added that all things were in place and that they were now waiting for the big day.

“All things are now in place and we are now waiting for the big day. Tickets will be going on for $2 and $5 for the VIPs,” he said.
