RENOWNED volleyball coach, Vulindlela Moyo is appealing for urgent financial assistance to enable him to attend a Level Three international coaching course in Khartoum, Sudan.
The high-level course, sanctioned by the Confederation of African Volleyball Board, will start on April 24 and run for 10 days.
However, for the Zimbabwe senior women’s volleyball coach to achieve his dream, he needs to raise $2,000 to cover airfares and accommodation.

“The Zimbabwe Volleyball Association has okayed my trip but they have been open with me that they don’t have money to fund it, hence my appeal to the corporate world out there. This is a lifetime chance that one has to grab without hesitation,” said Moyo.

If successful in Sudan, Moyo will become only the second coach in Southern Africa to acquire such a qualification.
At the moment he holds a Level Two qualification which he attained in Lesotho in 2011.

“Those who would like to assist can get in touch with ZVA,” said Moyo, a terrific player during his playing days before taking up coaching.
He started his coaching career after being fired at Highlanders Volleyball Club, a team he founded in 1989.

As a player he won the Zimbabwe Anniversary Trophy in 1993 and the inter-provincial championships in Gweru.
He took up coaching at the end of 1995 with Bulawayo Raiders a team that had just been founded by Gifford High School and Ihlathi Secondary School boys.

They finished fourth in the championship race in that year but his best was yet to come when as player/coach of Raiders he led the team to the Pre-Season, Zimbabwe Open, Mid Season and End of Season tournaments and many runners-up slots between 1996 and 1998.

In the last five years he has coached top women’s side ZRP Raiders and been involved with the national teams and Youth Games sides.
