Vote wisely, Goromonzi told

Growth Point in Domboshawa on Monday, Vice-President Mujuru said most of the people’s concerns in the ward were not being heard because they voted for an MDC-T councillor who did not convey their concerns to a Zanu-PF legislator because of political differences.

She said voting for a Zanu-PF councillor, legislator and senator would ensure that there was a smooth communication channel which would usher developmental projects in the area.

The Vice-President said during the five years of the Global Political Agreement many developmental projects that were planned were not carried out because the Ministry of Finance headed by Mr Tendai Biti did not release funds needed for the projects.

“President Mugabe is advocating for all Zimbabweans to access clean water so that they can be healthy to work for themselves and reduce dependency. Some developmental projects are not being carried out because the money is being spent on food aid,” she said.

Vice-President Mujuru also urged the thousands of people who attended the rally to maintain peace.
“I ask you to be peaceful, parents with children should urge them to co-exist.

“Tell those who support other parties what is good about Zanu-PF, its policies and its leadership and convince them to join our party without being violent,” she said.
She said all Zimbabweans stood to benefit from empowerment programmes if they voted for the revolutionary party.

“Empowerment is not a once-off programme. Zanu-PF has various programmes in the pipeline which will benefit the masses,” she said.
She said although she was not happy with women representation in leadership positions there was progress in addressing the imbalances.

Zanu-PF candidate for Goromonzi West Cde Beatrice Nyamupinga said she would continue supporting people in her constituency if voted into office.
“We managed to build a clinic with 15 beds at Nyaure, we also helped in building a bridge in the area among other projects,” she said.

She said she also donated books to schools in the constituency promising to do more if she was elected into office. Vice-President Mujuru, who was accompanied by Cde Herbert Murerwa, also addressed rallies at Nyaure Clinic and Munyawiri School in the area.
