VP Chiwenga advocates for revitalisation of Zimbabwe’s Iron and Steel Industry

KWEKWE, Zimbabwe – Vice President Constantino Chiwenga addressed delegates at the Iron and Steel Indaba in kwekwe today, underscoring the critical role of a robust iron and steel industry in Zimbabwe’s development.
Speaking from the podium, he asserted that the nation cannot meet its economic aspirations without a solid foundation in this sector.

VP Chiwenga emphasized the need to revive the iron and steel industry to create jobs and reduce dependency on imports.
He highlighted Dinson Holding’s pivotal role in leading this resurgence, positioning the company as a key player in revitalising the industry.

Under President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s leadership, VP Chiwenga said, the iron and steel sector is poised to significantly contribute to achieving Vision 2030, which aims for Zimbabwe to become an upper middle-income economy.
His remarks reflect a broader commitment to enhancing local production capabilities and fostering sustainable economic growth.
