Vice President Dr Constantino Chiwenga this morning signed a book of condolence at the Indonesian Embassy in Harare following the death of the Asian country’s former Vice President Hamzah Haz.

Mr Haz died on July 24. He was 84.

He served as the ninth Vice President of Indonesia from 2001 to 2004 during President Megawati Sukarnoputri’s administration.

Vice President Chiwenga said Zimbabwe and Indonesia’s cooperation is unparalleled as evidenced by high-level visits between the two.

“It was in Indonesia where the Bandung Conference and its final resolution laid the foundation for the nonaligned movement. We have also remained close to Indonesia in the South-to-South cooperation,” said VP Chiwenga.

“There have been many high-level visits between our two countries. I was also in Indonesia two years ago to advance economic cooperation between our countries.”
