Vice President Dr Kembo Mohadi has arrived at Chisase Farm in Masvingo South for a tour of the 210ha property owned by Veterans Investment Holding Company (VIHC).

VIHC was established to create sustainable, revenue-generating projects that directly benefit liberation war veterans, their dependants, youth and surrounding communities through the Veterans Fund.

The farm lay idle for nearly 15 years.

It is expected to be transformed into a key project to generate income for veterans while empowering youths and the local community.

The development comes as Government intensifies efforts to improve the welfare of war veterans and scale up investments to ensure sustainable funding for the Veterans Fund.

The Second Republic says the initiative is aimed at ensuring those who fought for independence enjoy dignity, security and economic opportunities in their twilight years.

Dr Mohadi was received by Veterans of the Liberation Struggle Affairs Minister Monica Mavhunga, Masvingo Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Ezra Chadzamira, Masvingo South legislator Honourable Tanatsiwa Mukomberi, VIHC Group CEO Mr Cougan Matanhire and Zanu PF officials.
