VP Mohadi tours Victoria Falls Cricket Stadium

VICE President Colonel (Rtd) Kembo Mohadi has arrived at the Victoria Falls Cricket Stadium for an appreciation tour of the facility’s construction progress.

He was welcomed by Minister of Sports, Recreation, Arts and Culture General (Rtd) Anselm Sanyatwe, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Tongai Mnangagwa, senior Government officials, and members of the Joint Operations Command (JOC) .

The Mosi-oa-Tunya International Cricket Stadium is being constructed in the Masuwe Special Economic Zone.

The facility represents a significant step in Zimbabwe’s sports tourism development .
President Mnangagwa laid the foundation stone for the project in May 2024, marking the commencement of construction .

Local News

The 10 000-seater facility, funded through grants from the International Cricket Council, is central to Zimbabwe’s preparations to co-host major events, including the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup alongside South Africa and Namibia .

Once complete, the multi-purpose venue is expected to transform Victoria Falls into a leading sporting destination and boost the country’s tourism sector .
