Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s elder brother, Mr Judah Mnangagwa has died. He was 75, and died on Saturday last week in Zambia and was buried yesterday in that country.

VP Mnangagwa, who went to attend the burial, said he was grateful for the reception he received from the Zambian government.

“I went to attend the burial of my brother Judah Mnangagwa and we were well received by the acting president Madam Inonge Wina,” Cde Mnangagwa said.

“The burial was well attended by over 5000 people and the district officials and the Zambian Minister of Finance Cde Alexander Chikwanda was also there. I am so happy with the reception,” he said.

“My late brother was here in March and we went together to visit our rural home in Zvishavane.”

He said the burial took place in Mumbwa, Kapiyanga Village outside Zambia. Some of the Mnangagwa family members remained in Zambia where they relocated to during the days of the federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland. After his release from prison by the Rhodesian authorities, Cde Mnangagwa was deported to Zambia where he did his university education while continuing with his political activism.
