FORMER Bulawayo Pool Association (BPA) administrator, Donald Wadawu will on Saturday take part in the associationa��s elective Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Raylton Recreation Club seeking to be voted into the office of vice chairman.
Wadawu is a former BPA publicity secretary, who worked hand in glove with the then associationa��s chairman Godfrey Kondo, ex-secretary-general Raphael Mukucha, Liberty Mcijo who was vice-chairman and then fixtures secretary Charles Dube, from 2012 to 2014.
a�?Clubs have been pushing me to contest for the position of BPA vice-chairman. I have already submitted my nomination form and Ia��m ready for the task,a�? said Wadawu.
A fortnight ago B-Metro reported that some members of BPA resigned from their executive committee posts because of internal squabbles.
Christine Singwe who was the acting chairlady and Mandlenkosi Makohwa, the acting secretary general said the BPA family no longer wanted them in office.
Others who stepped down are Robin Goremucheche and Philani Mlotshwa who held the positions of fixtures secretary and committee member respectively.
The associationa��s executive committee is now left with four members that include Farai Nyandoro (publicity secretary), Lucy Mpofu (treasurer), John Mahachi (referees chairman) and Flata Moyo (committee member).
Ahead of the AGM, Nyandoro said any person intending to participate in the elections must submit a nomination form on or before 12pm on Saturday.
a�?The nomination form should be carefully filled in all respects; a copy of an Identity Card must be attached and be submitted to publicity secretary at Raylton Recreation Club in a sealed envelope. The sealed envelopes will be opened on Saturday at the venue of the meeting. Absence of a candidate or his or her representative will not stop the exercise,a�? Nyandoro.
He added that clubs will be represented at the AGM by four of their seconded members and a contestant to the elections who is not included (seconded) in the four club representatives to the AGM will be allowed to attend the AGM.
