AWARD-winning playwright Mgcini Nyoni has penned a play entitled, Walk with me that talks about women’s struggles in love, pain, despair and triumph in life.

The hour long production will be premiered at the Bluez Cafe in Bulawayo today, starting at 5:30PM.

Entry is $5.

The play, a fifth in Nyoni’s career, features three actresses Tendayi Bako, Sibusisiwe Falala and Mercy Moyo.

Nyoni, who is also a professional photographer, said the play was inspired by a conversation he had with one of his female friends.

“I spoke to this lady friend of mine and she opened up about how her relationship saying her partner seemed not to want her to prosper among many other issues. I realised that I could share her story through a play and started scripting it,” said Nyoni.

He said the play would be a mixture of monologues and poetry.

“The play is a collage of women’s stories of love, pain, despair and triumph which will be told through monologues and poems. It’s presented by three women and will take the audience through a myriad of emotions and realisations.”
