Psalms 147:3; “He heals the broken-hearted and binds up their wounds.”
A friend of mine went through a traumatic separation recently, the process was unexpected and painful. During that period she discovered things about the people around her that she never knew.
The process was heartbreaking, it’s often said that when a person is caught between a rock and a hard place their true character will emerge. Most of us have had those experiences where people have turned on you and shown you a side to them that you never knew or even imagined, it is not a nice experience.
My friend has somewhat been broken by the experience, she feels like she has lost a whole lifetime and it will be very difficult to recover. So many times we find ourselves in that place where we feel like our world has come to an end.
As we go through the process we are convinced that there can be nothing as painful as what we are experiencing. On occasion, we even wish for the worst to occur so that this moment can just go away.
As human beings, we have this amazing gift that God gave us, we are able to bounce back, to reinvent ourselves and start afresh. No matter how difficult things may be, the Lord will always provide a solution.
The greatest pain is usually caused by the actions of people we thought we knew until they turn against us and reveal a nasty side. When all this is happening, you question yourself and God, and wonder if you will ever recover from that pain.
We will all have periods of mourning and difficulty, where the bottom has literally given in and everything around us is falling. When that happens, be comforted by the knowledge that these dark clouds will clear out and before long the sun will shine again. You may think that the Lord is taking too long to ease your pain, but be assured that this dark period will come to an end and you will be able to smile, live and dream again.
We can never be sure when and how it will happen, but before long the Lord will have renewed your energy and given you a new lease of life. You may even be surprised that the blessings that will come after that will be greater than the pain you have endured.
Be Blessed.
