FC PLATINUM goalkeeper, Wallace Magalane, says he is honoured for being named man-of-the-match in their Chibuku Super Cup battle against Dynamos.
The FC Platinum ‘keeper was the hero of the day, after saving two penalties, to ensure they progressed to the Chibuku semi-finals, after beating DeMbare 4-2 in a shootout.
Magalane stopped Trevor Mavhunga and Godknows Murwira’s spot kicks, with only Tinotenga Muringai and Evans Katema, beating him.
Walter Musona, Blessing Moyo, Gift Mbweti and Brian Banda all scored for FC Platinum.
Nomore Chinyerere’s effort was stopped by goalkeeper Frank Kuchinei.
“It feels great to be named man-of-the-match playing against a big club like Dynamos.
“I’m so happy with the performance everyone put in to make sure that we go to the next stage of the competition.
“I did what I could do and helped my team win the game, which we all wanted.
“Everyone wanted to progress, you can see, even with the number of fans who came to support, and we are so happy that they believed in us,” he said.
Pure Platinum Play face giant-killers Herentals in the last four.
And, asked about their chances of reaching the final, Magalane said focus was in the semis.
“After that, then we can talk about the final.”
