WAR collaborators have blamed opposition political parties of sabotaging the Government and portraying its policies in bad light.
Manicaland Zimbabwe National Liberation War Collaborators association chairperson, Cde Angeline Mponda said this during a district meeting held in Mutare on Monday.
“Our President, Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa is implementing good economic policies, but there are those who always want to sabotage good things and make it look like failures,” she said.
“This is the work of opposition parties that lost in the 2018 July 30 harmonised elections.”
Cde Mponda said people were always good at picking out the bad side of things without proffering solutions.
She urged war collaborators to embark on projects that promoted self-reliance and eradicate the dependency syndrome.
“The Government through our Minister Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri is encouraging all war collaborators to embark on business projects that are meant to sustain their livelihoods rather than depend on incentives from Government,” said Cde Mponda.
She said people should heed President Mnangagwa’s call for Zimbabweans to be business-minded and come up with bankable projects.
“Our President is very concerned over the development of the economy through the undertaking of business projects which attract investors from both the local and international arena,” said Cde Mponda.
“We have also come up with a team that will go around the province identifying potential projects, which the Government can put money into and supply inputs whose fruits may be reaped within the shortest possible time.
“This will help eradicate the dependency syndrome, which has in some way become the source of poverty among our people.
“President Mnangagwa has come up with ways to equally redistribute land for everyone and that includes war collaborators so we need to use it wisely. The Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Climate and Rural Resettlement has also chipped in to correct land allocation anomalies to ensure everyone gets land.
“As war collaborators, we need to use the land efficiently for the development and sustenance of our families economically.”
A number of projects were proposed at the meeting which included poultry production, mining, cattle, goats and pigs rearing and legal marijuana farming.
