ZIMBABWE finally got their Africa Cup of Nations finals preparations underway yesterday after a Covid-19 testing exercise.

All the players and officials tested negative..

The Warriors camp officially started on Thursday, two days before the Christmas Day holiday.

“We are all good to go and training proper starts today. We went through all the necessary health and safety protocols and everyone came out clean. Now we are getting into the business side of why we are here,” said national teams’ general manager Wellington Mpandare.

Meanwhile, United States of America based defender Teenage Hadebe is expected to join camp today.

Hadebe has been conspicuous by his absence from the first day of camp for what Mpandare said were delicate and pressing family issues.

“Teenage has some delicate family issues. I spoke to him yesterday and I hope he will join us tomorrow” said Mpandare.

The former Bantu Rovers, Highlanders defence rock has been one of the most loyal national team players since breaking into the side in 2019.
