Warriors face World Cup-bound DRC in AFCON qualifiers

ZIMBABWE will face DRC, Equatorial Guinea and Sierra Leone in the TotalEnergies AFCON Pamoja 2027 Qualifiers set to start in September this year.The Confederation of African Football (CAF) conducted the draw in Cairo on Tuesday.

In Group E, DRC are the highest-ranked team and was in pot one, while Equatorial Guinea was second-ranked in pot two. Sierra Leone was third-ranked in pot three, while Zimbabwe was in pot four.

From the 12 groups, the two top teams will qualify for the group that has no hosts (three co-hosts).

Warriors caretaker coach Kaitano Tembo, who will be leading the team at the Unity Cup in London in the coming days, has what looks like a fair challenge.
