MUTARE-BORN goalkeeper Washington Arubi kept a clean sheet on his return into the Warriors fold as Zimbabwe held neighbours Mozambique 0-0 in a 2021 Cosafa Cup Group B opener played in Port Elizabeth, South Africa this afternoon.

This was the seasoned shot-stopper’s first start for the senior men’s soccer team in five years.

Although Arubi’s rearguard was not breached, the Warriors, however, could not find the target at the other end of the field.

The result leaves Zimbabwe in third place, tied on a single point apiece with the Mambas of Mozambique in their five-team mini-league standings.

Meanwhile, in the group’s other match Namibia overpowered tournament invitees Senegal 2-1 to claim top spot.

The Warriors square off against Malawi in their next fixture on Friday.
