AT a time Highlanders are marking 100 years of existence, the club have been honoured with an exhibition match against the Warriors at Barbourfields on Wednesday.

ZIFA head of marketing, media and communications, Mike Madoda said:

“It’s going to be an exhibition match to honour Highlanders on their centenary celebrations.”

“The FIFA International break opens tomorrow (today) and, as of now, the Warriors are only establishing camp in Bulawayo on Monday (today).

“We will be giving you updates on who has arrived and who has not beginning tomorrow.”

Bosso recently launched their centenary celebrations amid revelations that the club were courting strategic partners to support a range of infrastructure and heritage projects designed to cement the outfits’ footprint beyond the pitch.

The initiatives form part of a broader vision to build a sustainable future for the club while honouring generations of players, supporters and administrators, who shaped their identity.

Key projects lined up include the establishment of a Highlanders museum chronicling the club’s history and its icons, the publication of a commemorative Century Magazine, and the hosting of the Umcimbi weBosso musical event as well as a marathon to push health and wellness in the community.

The club also plans to develop an amusement park.

Club officials said the centenary milestone presents an opportunity to give back to Bulawayo through projects that will uplift the city while strengthening Highlanders’ community roots.
