WARRIORS ON WARPATH: Nees confident as Msendami joins lesotho showdown

ZIMBABWE head coach Michael Nees says the Warriors are ready to deliver a “marvelous show” when they face Lesotho tonight at Peter Mokaba Stadium. Kickoff is at 6pm.
Adding to the excitement, the Warriors technical team confirmed that Daniel Msendami has joined camp to replace Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya, who is still recovering from an injury.

“We salute Thandolwenkosi for his commitment and wish him a strong recovery. His spirit remains with us. At the same time, we warmly welcome Daniel. His energy, determination, and team-spirit will inject fresh life into the Warriors as we gear up for the Lesotho showdown. This is what makes our Warriors unbreakable – when one falls, another rises for the flag,” ZIFA said in a statement.

Nees urged his players to channel the same resilience and spirit that carried them through a gruelling goalless draw with South Africa just three days ago. “Some might see it as a dead rubber, but for us every match is a building block toward AFCON 2025,” Nees said. “Every player matters, and we are developing a culture of unity and belief.”

The Warriors continue to build momentum and cohesion ahead of the AFCON finals in Morocco this December. Currently, Zimbabwe anchor the log standings with five points from nine games. Benin tops the table with 17 points, two ahead of second-placed Nigeria on 15. Rwanda and Lesotho sit fourth and fifth with 11 and 9 points respectively.

Fans will be watching closely to see if the Warriors can maintain form and test new combinations with Msendami now in the squad. Nees believes the squad’s mix of experienced stars and fresh energy will be key to sending a strong message at AFCON 2025.
With morale high, determination sharp, and every player ready to rise for the team, Zimbabwe looks set to give Lesotho a match to remember.
