ZIFA has announced that the Warriors will face Rwanda on Tuesday, 9 September 2025, at Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg in a critical FIFA World Cup qualifier, as the country continues to grapple with a stadium crisis.

Before hosting Rwanda, Zimbabwe will travel to Benin for another qualifier on Monday, 1 September 2025.
Kick-off is set for 3:00 PM CAT, with fans urged to turn out in large numbers to support the Warriors in what could prove a decisive match in their qualification campaign.

Zimbabwe currently sit at the bottom of CAF Group C with four points, level with Lesotho, and will need a strong finish to retain any chance of advancing.

South Africa lead the group with 13 points, followed by Rwanda and Benin with eight points each, Nigeria with seven, and Lesotho with four.

The group winner will qualify directly for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, while the second-placed team could still reach the inter-confederation play-offs.

Orlando Stadium, previously used by the Warriors due to stadium shortcomings back home, will once again serve as their temporary home ground.

Zimbabwe’s supporters have been urged to “paint Orlando green and gold” as the Warriors push for a crucial three points.
