Bulawayo-based Highlanders Football Club, affectionately known as Bosso, has received a timely boost ahead of the 2026 Premier Soccer League season as prominent businessman Sir Wicknell Chivayo delivered on his pledge to supply the club with a brand-new luxury team bus.
The gesture, shared in a video on Chivayo’s Facebook page captioned “Bosso Ngenkani”, has stirred excitement among supporters and reignited optimism around the fortunes of Zimbabwe’s oldest football club.
In his post, Sir Wicknell showed off the sleek 75-seater Higer executive bus, a state-of-the-art vehicle equipped with modern amenities designed to improve comfort and travel conditions for players, technical staff and officials during away trips. The bus is part of a broader support package that Chivayo has extended to Highlanders following the appointment of former Warriors captain Benjani Mwaruwari as head coach.
Chivayo’s social-media announcement not only celebrated the delivery of the bus but also underscored his commitment to the club’s resurgence.
The delivery of the bus also comes alongside a significant US$300,000 financial injection, which Chivayo pledged to channel towards clearing outstanding player arrears, supporting the new coach’s contract and bolstering player recruitment.
This cash support is part of a promise he made to help address some of the club’s logistical and operational challenges ahead of competitive fixtures.
