Three artistes from Bulawayo, Jaycee, Mzoe7, and Zimdancehall musician Ma9ine, have joined forces to create a remix of Jaycee’s chart-topping track Ungayithi Vuu.

In an interview, Jaycee shed light on the remix and the inspiration behind it.
“Ungayithi Vuu is a song that encourages people to keep certain matters private – it’s more of a warning,” said Jaycee.

“The track has become one of the biggest hits in the country, resonating on the streets, in clubs, and on TikTok. Fans kept asking for more of the song, so I decided to spice it up with a remix to keep the momentum going.”

Jaycee stressed the importance of collaboration, highlighting the unique styles that Mzoe7 and Ma9ine brought to the remix.
“Ma9ine’s style is distinct, and Mzoe7’s inclusion wasn’t just about friendship – it was a business decision that symbolises growth and unity among Bulawayo artistes. From the day of the song’s release, both artists vibed to it, so working with them felt natural and seamless,” he said.

Jaycee also thanked Harris Entertainment for spearheading the project, describing the experience as an important step toward fostering unity in the local music industry.

Mzoe7 shared his excitement about the project, noting how a long-awaited collaboration was finally realised.
“We’ve often talked about working together as creatives but rarely acted on it. The remix brings us together as a team, and I truly appreciate the opportunity,” said Mzoe7.

The remix video, shot by KeaitseFilms, features contributions from Harris Entertainment, Metty, Kruger, Zoste, Loxion Dance Crew, and Kulture Studios. It also profiles real-life experiences, with Mzoe7’s story focusing on themes like relationships and entanglements while promoting Bulawayo’s mining and tourism sectors.
“The video celebrates urban culture and everyone involved in it. We’ve already performed the song at various events, and the response has been overwhelming. It’s become an anthem, loved by fans young and old,” added Mzoe7.

The Ungayithi Vuu remix is a testament to the song’s enduring popularity and a celebration of artistic collaboration, representing a bright future for Bulawayo’s music scene. – @SipepisiweM
